Meridian Railroad Museum
Description
The Meridian Railroad Museum is located in the heart of downtown, housed in the former freight station and Railway Express Agency building adjacent to the Meridian Union Station and the Norfolk Southern mainline. Built in 1906 in the Mission Revival style, the station and freight house served a variety of passenger trains throughout the 20th century. The museum includes a trio of retired rolling stock, including a caboose from the nearby Meridian & Bigbee shortline, as well as interactive exhibits and wooden train sets that are kid friendly.
