Better Than Ezra

Location: MSU Riley Center

Did you caught Better Than Ezra at a house party when they formed in 1988 at LSU? Maybe you heard “Good” on the radio when the song hit number one in 1995. Did you became a fan when Taylor Swift covered the band’s “Breathless” in 2010? Or did you see the group headline huge outdoor concerts in 2018? Those catchy melodies, unshakable guitar riffs, and confessional lyrics led Billboard magazine to name them one of the 100 Greatest of All Time Alternative Artists. Now you can see Better Than Ezra at MSU Riley Center.

They have so many hits to choose from: such rousing funk as “Too Hot ta Trot” and “Brick House,” easygoing soul like “Nightshift,” and some of the most cherished romantic ballads ever – “Easy,” “Still,” “Three Times a Lady,” and more.  And when it comes to putting on a show, they still shake it down.

Meridian Symphony Orchestra presents

Espresso & Prosecco

The Bach Coffee Cantata featuring The Cantata Quartet

Location: TBD

Do you know, in 1734, Johann Sebastian Bach wrote a cantata about the temptation and power of coffee? Bach wrote the “Coffee Cantata,” a humorous one act operetta about a stern father’s attempt to check his daughter’s indulgence in the much loved Saxon habit of coffee drinking.

Whether you prefer one brew over the other, MSO invites you to an evening of roguery at its best featuring the captivating Cantata Quartet for Bach’s “tongue-in-cheek” Coffee Cantata.
